How to Make Weddings More Beautiful

June 6, 2012
One of the reasons why I love weddings is that it provides me a great excuse to unleash my ferocious drive to create something aesthetically pleasing. Although it’s true, all types of weddings involve a stressful preparation process; the idea of going through all those months to come up with a successful and beautiful event still excites me like nothing else. After all, seeing a happy couple enjoy what could be one of the best days of their lives gives me utter satisfaction.

A successful wedding is really worth all the effort; from booking the best reception hall venue, picking out the right dress to choosing the right combination of wedding reception flowers. Once you get to see the beautiful end result, you’ll be thankful for having the patience to go through all that stress and anxiety.

However, before anything else, the couple must commit themselves to have enough patience to undergo all the pressure that comes with planning such a big event. Apart from having the right attitude, they should also be equipped with the right knowledge about weddings. They can ask help from a competent team of wedding organizers and planners. This will lessen the burden for them. Come to think of it, allotting a few dollars to hire these guys is actually nothing considering the couple gets to have the time of their life during their wedding day.

More importantly, couples should also learn to relax and enjoy the moment; including the most hectic and stressful phases of the preparation. After a few years, these things will turn themselves into great memories; something couples and friends are likely to remember.

It’s important for a couple to just enjoy the ceremony and mark it as the start of a new phase in their lives. At the end of the day, that’s all that really matters.

Helpful Tips on How to Choose the Proper Venue for Your Wedding

June 1, 2012
Being engaged has to be one of the most exciting things that could happen to a person. Couples tend to get overly excited when they start to plan out the details of their wedding. While I’ve never been married myself, I know that this can be an overwhelming process. Sometimes, couples get too overwhelmed with happiness and excitement that they end up not knowing where to start with the planning. Well ideally, they should start choosing the venue first. To help them with that, here are some few tips every couple should consider when it comes to selecting the right wedding location.

The first step is to discuss things together as a couple. Just like in corporate meetings, couples should start by brainstorming ideas. Planning together is crucial since it prevents the couple from developing any major disagreements as they go along the entire preparation process. The couple should be clear as to what type of wedding they want. It’s either they want to have a relaxed and contemporary sort of wedding or a more traditional and elegant one. This will help them choose a location better.

In line with that concern, they should also decide whether they’d want to have a civil ceremony or a church wedding. This will help them narrow down their choices.

More importantly, they should set a budget. Setting a budget is important especially if the couple is planning to rent party halls for the wedding reception. They should also remember to include other additional expenses such as decorating costs or renovation costs in the budget.

Finally, the couple should also consider the number of guests they are planning to invite. If they are working with a limited budget, they should at least set a maximum number of people. It would be such a waste to hold a beautiful wedding in a nice venue only to find it cramped with people on the day of the event itself.

The Silliest Mistakes Brides Often Commit

May 24, 2012
No wedding ceremony is ever technically perfect. It’s a universal fact. However, it doesn’t mean that all weddings are doomed to be major disasters. It’s not necessarily so, given that the couple has exerted enough effort and patience to go through the planning.

The best way to avoid wedding catastrophes is to actually learn from the mistakes of previous brides. Most brides share common mistakes from what I’ve noticed after going to all those weddings. If you don’t want to be just like them avoid doing the following:

Be careless when buying a used wedding gown

Sometimes, you have to really inspect a garment before you purchase it. This applies to all items especially those that are sold under dim lighting and questionable shops. Don’t scrimp on quality just to save a few bucks; most of the time it’s really not worth it. After all, the last thing you want to happen is to walk along the aisle with a dress that’s falling apart.

Book a venue that has not been built yet

This is wrong for obvious reasons. You don’t want to risk booking a venue that you haven’t seen yet. Unless you’re wedding day isn’t going to happen in 5 years or so, stick to venues that are already out there and finished.

These are just two of the most common mistakes most brides are guilty of. Of course, when it comes to planning a wedding the two things you’ll need are patience and a good common sense.
